Also in French, the book was well understood. I like the childishly naive narrative style of the author, even if it sometimes seems strange that Hector can apparently indicate no irony. He sees everything through the eyes of a child and that seems somewhat unrealistic to me. He has worked in the past as a psychiatrist at the hospital, he must have had something to do with murderers, rapists or their victims possibly yes. This dark evil side of man is not addressed. The question of the source of happiness is universal people in all countries and at all times, this question will be asked in times of un-happiness. Lelord has his hero deliberately placed the observer glasses and the book seems like a version of the little prince for adults. The fairytale-like language I find very beautiful and poetic at the same time downplayed or trivialized the problems of this world. It is difficult to write a book, which meets all requirements. When I see the story only as a hero looking for happiness, the author is the fully succeeded. It is a stubborn voice style, but do not get bored. For use in the teaching of French, I would recommend this book absolutely, down there in the footnotes of pages translations of difficult vocabulary and so are looking up in a separate dictionary is superfluous.
