After I had discovered the Living Color Gen1 with a colleague, I was impressed by the design and concept. Only the quick color changes of Gen1 bothered me. So I came in looking at Amazon on the Gen2 with "variable color change" and so this lamp is perfect. We run with very laaangsamen change almost exclusively in this mode and are enthusiastic about the effect and how beautiful the light effect. Most of all you should have a Gen2 even in the bathroom and bedroom)
