The long awaited ....

I have for several weeks the G1X. The results are impressive, high quality snapshots mainly due to the large sensor, dives, very limited noise (correct up to ISO 1600 and up). I had the G7, G9, G11 that have always given me satisfaction but the G1X is something else. It details the comprehensive functions of the other PowerShot. Canon had the intelligence to limit sensitivity 14MP, and not offer interchangeable optics which in my opinion is useless on this type of unit.
Among its flaws:
A lack of reactivity rather pronounced, it ''s sometimes annoying but other PowerShot compact and generally do little better.
Macro mode that starts qu''à 40 cm
The inability to mount ISO AUTO (limited to 1600 ISO)
Fixed sensitivity 100-12400 select C1 or C2
Unable to force the flash triggering AUTO mode (fill in), but possible C1, C2
Convenient but misplaced video button, you can trigger video when handling the device.
And the perennial small viewfinder PowerShot ... but at least there
Instructions to print 250 pages, Canon could provide a form reminiscent of the main functions.
Price abusive accessories
Conclusion: Compact (if you like) that give excellent results, the photos are very sharp and very noisy at high sensitivities. Because of its reactivity is rather average for shooting scenery. Recommended for demanding connoisseurs who do not want in some cases s''encombrer their heavy and bulky SLR, for virtually equivalent results. Congratulations Canon
