I was first pleased that not only the single "Never Forget" has found its way on the album, but also the equally old showcase ballad "Lost In This Dance", an absolutely timeless pearl. But the vast majority of the remaining album tracks knows how to impress: with "Who I Am" builds Lena to even the best tATu songs, what makes me sentimental. "Wish On A Star" is an electric blast of top quality and a clear album highlight. With "An Invitation" the Russian woman a surprisingly mature ambience number that exudes a lot of romance, while "Fed Up" has failed on the contrary somewhat playful but no less successful succeed beyond.
That "This Is Who I Am" has become generally somewhat weaker than the albums of tATu, is because there are, unfortunately, one or the other fillers, it has not been so on the tATu albums. "The Beast (Inside Of You)" and "Just A Day" convincing indeed in the verses very flat but unfortunately in the chorus somewhat. In "Walking In The Sun" The situation is the opposite trend.
But the fact remains that Lena Katina with her long-awaited debut presents a strong pop album, which still exudes a lot tATu charm, but also a lot of character of Lena itself brings. The album cover is also worth a mention - I find it very beautiful.
Let's see if Yulia Volkova will soon follow suit.
