Here is a review from my point of view:
++ Amazing volume with still acceptable to good overall sound (but not due to design bass) - awning Suitable for campers, or for outdoor use on the terrace.
++ A Ferbedienung that can be stowed in the housing! This works very well, as long as one keeps just the right angle
++ Through a built-in foldable stand the storage volume is extremely compact, the weight is also relatively low
++ FM radio with excellent reception and spacious tuning using automatic tuning and storing (all available channels within the region are stored by pressing a button in a few seconds)
+ Price / performance ratio is correct (I paid + (subjectively) solid free processing
+ Neutral lighting
+ Integrated, fully retractable antenna
+ Timer and alarm
+ Other devices can be connected via AUX
+10 Docking trays are supplied
+ Transport neoprene skin is delivered
(+) Small inconspicuous power supply (unfortunately it does not fit in addition to the transport envelope)
(+) Battery with a long maturity for operation without mains supply (it is reported by up to 12 hours, but I have not yet errecht. Conditioning needed the battery?)
(+) No extreme Verzerrgeräusche out of the speakers, even at full volume and quiet songs. Only sometimes in accordance with dynamic passages guessed it a slight "scratchiness" in the sound
In the overall standings original 2 stars for withdrawal:
- Sound overall is a bit "musty", I lack the brilliance of the treble, mid-to-heavy
- No more pronounced stereo effect given (for lack of brilliance, poor channel separation?)
- The back is white, let's see what this looks like in a few years (Update: After 2 years, no yellowing)
- The front is glossy black, and after 2 years, the traces are visible
- No Bluetooth
(-) No direct access to the battery (permanently installed)
(-) Radio has no RDS
(-) An additional Dockstütze for the back of the pod instead of docking shells might have been more useful?
My Conclusion:
If you would like the device to use when traveling or generally portable, or you have to pay attention to camper and pack volume and weight, it did to me an absolute buy recommendation.
Who but a mini plant (2nd plant for home, etc.) is looking with beautiful & balanced sound image, which should establish a sound system better prefer.
Supplements and revaluation of 01/10/2014:
After 2x 4 weeks camping holiday but I am now very happy with the Edifier.
The recommended docking tray works with my old 160GB Classic incorrect (too little depth for the contact), so I use the Edifier without shells.
The volume and the sound were in practice but quite satisfactory and sufficient for the daily camping use. Even at higher volumes not "rattling" it so quickly.
However, I will not glue a thin felt strip behind the iPod because it (see above "slight scratch" in evaluation) came with some songs to slight vibration noises.
Furthermore, the weak stereo effect reduces my total euphoria for this device, but that may be due to design unfortunately not circumvent.
Overall, I found it very comfortable no longer an extra charger for the iPod need to.
Even the radio is quite often been used. Here excites me fast searching. The lack of RDS function would be able to help in the selection of local stations.
The display of the time in standby was also a very nice touch. Of course, the clock will consume battery power, so you should every 2 days grid Go.
Battery performance is as stated very long (loosely between 8-10h continuous operation), but the battery takes approximately 2-3 times charge to full power really reach.
In the sum of all the properties I am now ready the few negative points (listed above) to be regarded towards the optimal portability, bulk and weight than necessary Komprimiss and change my rating of formerly 3 to 4 stars now!
