The monopoly of the electric guitar

Many is already known that indie and alternative music has changed in recent years and no longer has a monopoly on the rocking electric guitar.
Synth-heavy successful alternative bands have become so lesser known indie groups (probably the clearest example provide the editor with "In This Light and on This Evening"). Snow Patrol also have given her love for electronic sounds space. Most of the songs were electronically at least underpinned. That was not the case on the previous albums. A new direction was taken that sounds quite interesting - "Fallen Empires".

The album starts off with "I'll Never Let Go". This song is full of details to which you should pay attention. This ineressant and captivating. A standing and more confident song. Title 2 on the album is the single "Called Out In The Dark". A song with danceable rhythms, strong pre-chorus and chorus.
Shortly before the middle of the album we encounter "Fallen Empires". A herrausragendes song because it is not comparable with the rest very. Full rhythms, guitars, a strong voice, interesting text and voltage.
"Life-ning" leaves a deep breath again. The dreamy guitar tracks have Snow Patrol is not abandoned. A quiet song with lovely lyrics. "New York" in my opinion is bombastic. Melancholic and powerful. Catchy and intoxicating. Finally, let "The Symphony" and "The President" finish the album slowly. Quieter songs, their instrumentalisation for Snow Patrol is a bit unusual. A conspicuous weakness of the album (the second single!) For me, "This Is not Everything You Are". The tee t seems to me somewhat unspectacular, although he wants to be just the opposite. And that makes him an almost embarrassing moment. He wants to fly off anthem-like, but does not drive on the strength of wing flapping.

All songs from this album are worth mentioning. Representative of the album was perhaps (I hope) the selection above.

The DVD of the concert from the Royal Alber Hall is a must and for friends not a bad buy for fans. In selecting songs for the DVD rather the quieter songs of precedence has been granted.
