- The sensors -> This is much better, 18 Mpix is more than enough to print in A3 and even A2, or to allow some re-framing.
- The grip improved -> with this new cover and it's a little more "upscale" ..
- The lightweight -> Again, to me it's an advantage to win by all.
- No sensor cleaning -> Regrettable (but as said Philip, "at least that is a function that will not fall down"). There is the 1200D (as on the 1100D) a function to digitally compensate for the presence of any dust.
If we change very little purpose, it is not a big worry. Otherwise, manual cleaning with a professional will do.
- The screen is a little bigger and better definition -> this is not what is done best at the moment but I see the difference from my old 1100D.
- AF responds fairly well (for an amateur camera)
- I am pleasantly impressed with the noise remains very acceptable up to 3200 ISO without post processing correction.
- The video is full HD -> it's very nice to make some sequences of clips or video memories. In absence of an external microphone jack and headset, you can not shoot in very "professional". Anyway, we do not buy this camera for that.
- By equipping a valid objective such as 18-55mm IS STM (or better, a 18-135mm IS STM), we have a very serious reflex for the price of a luxury compact.
In short, choosing the 1200D I am totally satisfied.
Less than 300 (October 2014), it is a very good case to make beautiful pictures.
It's also a great way to enter the world Canon (lenses and accessories) cheaply !!! This is a great value.
So very good pictures (with 1200D course ;-))
