The songs come with 2 exceptions to the period from 12th-18th Century, mainly 12th-16th Century, including 2 pieces of the Cantigas de Santa Maria, which are certainly many a household.
The two exceptions are elves Thal (Track 12) and the bonus track Wolfkind (Track 16). The former is the work of John and Maite and fits seamlessly into the remaining tracks on the album. The latter is borrowed from purple and for me is actually the most beautiful piece in the whole album, but this may also be because, that Spanish song is not necessarily my cup of tea. Even more beautiful sounds of this song, however, in the original interpretation, for example, to find on the current Miroque XVII, although I like to listen to the accent afflicted vocals of Maite and John with a smile.
Is accompanied by a CD 8-page booklet which contains the lyrics to the songs.
A strong buy recommendation goes to all who enjoy authentic medieval music. Who only the repertoire of Tales from the Secret Forest and Maite combines stunning voice with John Kelly and Maite Itoiz, should rather listen again accurately whether this album is right for them or him.
