the album was produced by none less than Jack White.
when asked if he would take a project a duet with Wanda he had a much better idea and took an entire album with it on.
reinterpreted eg songs from the Andrew Sisters, Harlan Howard, Dylen, Elvis and even Amy Winehouse: it is (drumroll) a cover album.
Her voice has actually changed very little when you consider that hits like "Let's Have A Party" half a century behind her.
In the meantime, she had the opportunity to become familiar with many different styles of music, as we listen to "The Party Is not Over" a wide range of blues, big band, country, gospel and of course, rock n 'roll.
The very first track "Shakin'All Over" is a blast! the band Los dashes, Wanda raging middle and Jacks electric guitar howls.
actually I feel more at home in the electro-corner and so I just wanted to listen to "The Party Is not Over" but after 2.lied was clear, I have to have the disc!
the rock songs I like best, and the idiosyncratic bluesy "Like A Baby" makes me hardly sit still.
only the country makes me a little scared, with "Dust On The Bible" I try not to make friends :)
So people: buy, dancing shoes and put off you go!
