I have long hesitated, because the price always seemed a little too high. Ultimately, the level of suffering by the used alternative (TheMiniDrive) was nevertheless become too large. I have only a 256 GB SSD in my MacBook Pro Retina mid 2012 and I wanted to expand. Previously I had the favorable alternative to NiftyMiniDrive with a 32 GB MicroSD card in use. The reading speed was okay, but outsource my iPhoto library, this variant was not suitable and so it remained outsource iTunes library. Since the MicroSD card is too small I bought just times the largest variant of the StorEdge and am more than satisfied.
In the 2012er MBP StorEdge fits perfectly and only the small handle projects from the housing. Both read and write speeds are more than satisfactory. I do not have measurements made since the increase compared to the previous solution is enormous. I can make simultaneous iTunes Downloads (never went before and led to the beachball with too many simultaneous writes) and iPhoto is within its means much faster than before.
So who wants to expand its memory which is connected to the StorEdge from PNY to the right place.
