Following a first volume colorful, the green pearl effectively continues the way for a nice fantasy trilogy started with the Garden of Suldrun. We remind you, Lyonesse this is a war for power taking place on an imaginary archipelago located off of Brittany and England, mixing history, fairy tales, Arthurian legends and fantasy hardline. We are witnessing in the green pearl in the meteoric rise of King Aillas of Troicinet that keeps going and strongly opposes the domination of its neighbor King Casmir of Lyonesse. Along this last survey in the utmost discretion on the origins of Aillas and his son Dhrun while Casmir is still disturbed by a prophecy predicting that his little son ascend the throne of Evandig and unify the Old Islands. A very effective result, then, that capitalizes on the strengths of the first volume. The mano a mano being waged between two competing kings is exciting and it is a delightful series of betrayals and dirty tricks that we propose the author. Aillas, vancien hero any, redoubling cunning and guile to double his opponent and expand its empire. We find great pleasure liters tenderness, lightness, humor and wonder discharged by Jack Vance in this novel. Her storytelling talent is obvious and the superposition of a wonderful historical context is the real success of the work in my opinion. The sauce takes!
