A nice gimmick in the settings is the color design of the front wheel mouse, for a wide range of colors is provided. The selected color illuminates the wheel in neon atmosphere without being distracting or flashy. When the mouse is quietly pulsating light, moving it lights it constant (by choice of color "black", you can turn this option off). On the mouse itself, a ninth key is laterally "hidden" on the bottom left, it turns the 5 profiles with different colors the mouse wheel and for better differentiation by. A device for "macro" settings (command chains) is also available on the CD menu.
The mouse as such
As a "gaming mouse" angeprießen I missed the beginning a weight correction possibility. So it remains at around 100 g (without cable) fairly balanced, and slides on its 4 on the bottom side, front and rear-mounted sliding on tested surfaces such as glass, black metal, wood, paper, speckled apply plastic etc. always work properly without the Laser Problems arose.
The clicking sound of the left and the right red rubberized mouse buttons are discreetly silent, both buttons are relatively narrow and are "closely" next to each other, which makes them less responsive for users to medium sized hands attractive. The sideways into the design of the mouse is brought right to the housing laying troughs for small- as the ring finger let these happy times put it, what is the ring finger very like. Opposite is the thumb relaxed in its cradle.
DPI
800, 1600, 2400 and 3200dpi (speed of the mouse pointer, you drive across the screen) offers the "Speedlink Z-DW". Easily recognizable on the left side above the recessed grip for the thumb. 3 bright blue bars (color not changeable) are therefor, 800 dpi remains "dark". So you quickly realize how fast it flits across the screen.
The second wheel
Better than the 5th wheel on the wagon is another wheel. And thus a double occupancy of the same function of both mouse wheel. So I put 2 x up / down scrolling it. What extent is working well. Especially when scrolling longer texts, web pages or playing games on large cards or small image details that you want to have in quick overview control of perhaps decisive advantage. Only the two mouse wheels different "clicks" have in turning a bit annoying. The front (lit) goes smoother and must be controlled with a little pressure on the rear scrolls, however, optimal and even a slight move higher.
Accessibility of the buttons
The second wheel means more flexibility - depending on the key assignment of the profiles menu. There's try hip. Thus, the hand can be closed around the mouse and you have optimum access to all buttons, but the hand can also be semi-slip backwards and reached, thanks to the additional mouse wheel also all commands. With practice I succeed this now very good.
Conclusion
As a "gaming mouse" offers the "Speedlink Prime Z-DW" a decent handling what was getting used to at first and for the 2nd mouse wheel, after a short time but already became a habit. The menu of the settings on a CD is made clearly and quickly. Processing, sliding and functionality to many substrates tested by me, the sheathed with fabric USB cable signify longevity. Practical and always easy to read the dpi lighting shades are sitting in a rugged housing. The wise mounted laying troughs for fingers and thumbs are just for hardcore gamers, but also those who have to plow through longer texts a blessing. The mouse thus receives my blessing = 5 stars Amazon.
