A major difference to the other two flashes of: the Yongnuo is not master capable. Ie as Aufsteckblitz he can not control other (slave) -Blitze. But that does not bother me, since both the D7000 with the internal flash and the SB700 can. Furthermore, the Yongnuo of me is essentially for wireless "fueling" of Walimex 2-in-1 reflector / light umbrella (109 cm) white or Phottix softbox 70x100cm with Bowens connection uses.
Ultimately, I have ordered the Yongnuo. Delivery as already described in a cloth bag, a base is also present. The "only with us" German manual I have (so far) not found. I do not need, the flash is self-explanatory and I am also of the English powerful. Actually you should but it deduct star !!!
The whole (already described by others) functions (CLS, HSS, Strobo, ...) function. What else I noticed?
Positives:
- Pan and rotate: 7 ° down to 90 ° upward and completely (per 180 °) rotation. This is the same with the Nikon, but better than the Metz. The only creates 300 ° rotatable.
- Automatic power zoom (as Aufsteckblitz): the can the others, the Yongnuo is better than described. In the description here is on Amazon: "Zoom by pressing". The Yongnuo zooms but also when turning the zoom ring.
- Display: the display shows the selected aperture is displayed. I like working with aperture priority with aperture priority, because I can see at a glance the diaphragm.
- Operation: the buttons and rocker are well labeled and logically. Even without looking at the manual I could make all the settings immediately. One must also not ever dig through menus, one is very fast at the required setting.
- AF-assist beam: is large-scale and finer textured than the SB700, the same distance it seems bright to me (subjective), so would the range be higher.
Negatives:
- Motor Zoom: is slower and noisier than the Nikon SB700. As Aufsteckblitz'd disturbing, on screen or in the box it does not matter.
- Display: (theoretical) range is not displayed
Given the 60% and 50% lower price compared to Nikon or Metz flashes these "negatives" are negligible, at least for me.
Summary:
The flash Yongnuo or can not for the absence of the German instructions, I will therefore accommodate the * exhaust in the vendor evaluation.
The flash itself has a great price / performance ratio.
I hope that the reliability will be so forgiving and even a recommendation with 5 *****
If further points emerge, I will register a course
Addendum 18.3 .:
Now, after 3 shootings with total 400-500 flashes I can only confirm the positive impression. The Yongnuo in the 70x100 softbox, my SB700 in reflector / translucent umbrella can have parallel control easily by my D7000. No glitches or dropouts. I'm going to buy me to gain my "light fleet" another YN-568EX.
PS: in response to my poor vendor evaluation wg. lack of German instructions I get this sent without further invitation by mail. Obviously, the supplier reads the assessments and responded well to it. I find it good!
Addendum 30.08.2013:
The zoom range when Yongnuo is weaker than with the Nikon's. Goes from 24mm to 105mm (the same as in Metz), the Nikon SB700 are 24 to 120 mm's and the SB910 17-200 mm!
Otherwise I can further confirm the good impression.
