Sure, the album has been very acoustic and folk standard. But with `Haunting girl` (super) and especially` Pibroch (Cap in Hand) `(awesome) are also represented right rocker. Especially `Pibroch` has a so so horny (sorry) guitar work, great class. Martin Barre has to be mentioned times praise anyway. Without him, Jethro Tull would not have been at all possible.
More good to very good songs `Songs from the wood`,` Jack in the green`, `` The whistler` and Fire at midnight`. Again and again super flute of Ian A. and the keyboardist John Evan and David Palmer play great on.
The bonus songs are very well done. `Beltane` is again a harder song while` Velvet green` is additionally present in a successful live version.
"Songs from the Wood" makes a lot of fun, I promise. The underlying trend is more acoustic, but also harsher sounds and Prog we find here. 5 Stars. The sequel to "Heavy Horses" has failed similar and also very well done.
