I particularly liked the strong, very active u. Variable drums and the rich guitar riffs. The voice goes well with the sound: you always have the feeling that always still has the singer abundant reserves in terms of volume and volume - pretty amazing for someone at that age.
Is there room for improvement? Some songs begin quite interesting to (eg. Acoustic guitar), but unfortunately remains of the song often not much left. The usual Songchema is quiet or begin filigree, but then down towards the chorus strongly at speed to let it rip then so right and then to knock the listener with sound momentum. That's actually not bad, but a little more variety would have made the wheel even more interesting and worth listening. The niceties I miss a bit! And what the icing on the cake is still missing are guitar solos.
My favorites are "what happened to us" (variety richest Song) and "same direction" and "Let It Out" (terrific hard and impulsive power galore).
There are around the plate really just a song that I do not like because of "singing" partially degenerate only in roar. "Out of control" has indeed good guitar and drum parts, but it is annoying because of the cry in chorus me here and there and pretty. (Therefore, I skip it while listening also usually.)
Oh yes: "The Reason" was so often on the radio that I almost can not hear the - also me the song is almost too "corny".
Conclusion:
The disc has a lot of rich sound for driving on the highway, headbang at concerts or even for jogging or for hard workout. If you like this style, is served here well above average.
Who generally no loud rock or like 12 songs like "The Reason" is expected, are more likely to put off - but then those should also draw up any reviews about Hoobastank!
After this promising work I'm going to listen to me, here are the other two discs of the band ...
