The book is not a complete biography of Schacht, but focuses on twenty years of the life of the famous banker: that is, his companionship with Hitler, which will turn into a nightmare for Schacht, who manages to be arrested by the Gestapo, interned in concentration cases, paid by the Allies in Nuremberg and condemned by his compatriots as part of denazification, before resurfacing again and found his own bank in 75 years. Such a life is the most frenzied adventure novels. I just regret that the author, busy demystify the character of Schacht, is not the best teacher as to its financial policy, it seems to me though that Schacht played a key role in the fight against hyperinflation in 1923- 1924 and in the German economic recovery in 1933-1936, which does not really from reading this book nevertheless very interesting.
