Delivery, unpacking, installation
Was delivered to the monitor in the original packaging and a carton to prevent damage to the original package. The device was relatively simple packaging, so I kept it in two minutes in all items in your hands. First impression: Wow! Very chic in its glossy plastic Samsung Korea appearance.
The installation of the stand (my way, is angular - understand a Koreans ...) took about 2 - 3 minutes. By comparison, the removal of all protective film took longer ;-) foot bolted to bracket, clipped bracket to monitor - done. Then put it to the desk: power supply connector backward purely, purely HDMI cable (not included) - done.
First impression
Through the external power supply, the monitor is much flatter. The eckicke foot allows me combined with the flatness to provide him even closer to the wall, as my old monitor with round base. Now he stands there in all its glory and after I booted up the computer and Windows has finished booting and I had with the black border, which has been described in many Rezis. But as has been described here as well: I have an AMD graphics card and turning off, or turn down the overscan by AMD Vision Control Center has the "problem" resolved immediately. I now have the full panel size.
I can only compare this unit yes with my old LG 2242T and showed after 6 years already show signs of wear. In the addition, it was still an LCD monitor and not, as in the Samsung is a LED monitor.
I have the equipment then calibrated with the Windows Toll "DCCW" and all that I have changed, the gamma value were (whatever that is) and the brightness was slightly reduced because the Samsung is turned up at the factory and does really not need. Hurts the eyes. I found the menu of the device and its use as a self-explanatory, at least for anyone who has ever operated a monitor ... reviews on an obsolete operating structure I can not understand.
In use
The monitor is used with me mainly to watch movies and surf the web. From time to time write a letter, play now and again my old games. So Amazon and launched an HD movie: Wow! That was really fun, because black was black and the colors were brilliant and clear.
Old game cranked (Trackmania) and also here the same impression: Everything is sharper, not oversubscribed. The colors are strong, but not unrealistic. Toll!

But there are also criticisms that cost this equipment 5. Stern: I see it also as a no-go in 2014 still a VGA cable instead of an HDMI cable to put this, not least from an environmental perspective, because you remember Samsung makes the land with millions of devices and all these cables - at least in the Western industrialized nations - to 80% in the garbage. Since the Koreans should then at least be consistent and put no cable at. Questionable I find the lack of preparation for installation on the wall. I can imagine that not everyone wants to be a huge thing on the desk, because - for physical reasons - the monitor actually shaking at every opportunity. I do not mind that, but here you have saved in the wrong place.
Conclusion
I am happy top. I have the equipment nor the offer for 150, - and thus get the price / performance ratio is unbeatable well (in my case). Have seen today that the price again at 192, - is (as of 12.08.2014), but also that he is worth. Those who want to pimp their computers something likes to see movies on the computer or playing, which I can only recommend the Samsung. For the average user a really great device.
