One must assemble the microscope yourself (bit fiddly) - on the one hand may well be didactically valuable, but if you slip off times, you scratched as the lens, which then very detrimental effect on the already fairly lean functionality. Also, setting the correct distance is pretty hit or miss, as there are no similar wheel where you could turn, but you have to pull up or down the whole tube.
Conclusion: If already microscope, then spend more money.
