Make 71jährigen men a joy for Christmas (or other holidays) is usually not easy!
As my mentor is still "old school", and lots of old records (mostly singles) and also has standing around several music cassettes (but unfortunately neither plate nor cassette player), my interest was piqued with this device.
That it is also trimmed in "Retro", only made things more interesting.
When the device was set up and the first single was played, there was the recipient a little "happy dance".
But the device itself ...
The turntable has even a setting for "shellac" (78), the tone arm is semi-automatic (plate starts when you pivots the arm), and the hub for singles is included. Important: Before first use, completely screw in the Shipping Screw securing the turntable only has full suspension!
The lateral cassette compartment runs smoothly.
CD player works fine. Unfortunately, the supplied remote control is designed for the CD player, even the volume can not be controlled with your!
The radio is completely ok, unfortunately the device has only a wire antenna and no way to install another antenna.
The small USB port (actually to dub plates / cassettes / CDs on a stick), was one of us "abused" and now hosts the plug a small LED lamp. The light donates once turntables or CD players are turned on and facilitates accurate placement of Plattenspielertonabnehmers!
The two built-in speakers produce enough "sound" from center, to create a good 18m² large living room. The sound is good and the "scratching noises" were always of the playing boards.
Almost disturbing (for the retro look) is the intense blue digital display of the CD player.
Conclusion: I have (m) made an old man a huge joy and for the money received a very good goods! All functions work very well and the appearance also suggests a positive effect (so I can look past the small, enumerated defects ...)
