wanted to briefly talk about my experiences with these adapters.
Wanted to two hard drives, a DVD / CD drive and a DVD - burner installed with IDE ports in my new computer. These adapters promised a simple solution to connect these to the SATA ports on the motherboard.
So I ordered four of these were delivered with short SATA cable and power cable of large 4-pin connector on the small 4-pin connector.
Pretty useless in my opinion.
Would you deliver the adapter directly with Y-cable of large 4-pin socket on large 4-pin connector and small 4-pin connector, you do not have to for each adapter extra again Y - order cable.
Because you need so in addition to the 4-pin for the drive / CD even the small 4-pin for the board.
Moreover, SATA cables are very short, even with my Mini-Tower I had to buy a longer SATA cable for the top drive.
Connecting itself was after reading some reviews here not really a problem.
it stuck, switch to switch, jumper board and drives properly. Feasible.
Nevertheless, a detailed guide the product would have been nice.
The adapter does his job. Occasionally, however, the hard drive is not recognized me at startup. A short reset, and then it's back.
The Sata - connecting the boards, however, is very poor, with a light touch of the cable this can already slipping from contact. Here would be a latching mechanism of benefit.
From four ordered adapters but one was broken.
What leads us to the customer.
The equals zero here.
I would like the adapter easily replaced.
However, this is not possible.
The only possibility is a return on Amazon, followed by a refund and then you can order a new one. I find quite cumbersome.
All in all really well made and working adapter for the money.
However, a few small improvements could not hurt.
