Hardware / Performance: 5 of 5 stars
----------------------------------------------
Here I do not want to judge great. The hardware components are described in the offer and the performance of the laptop can be read in countless tests. Of course, the SSD hard drive brings a certain level of luxury. Examples: The laptop will boot from the off state in less than 8 seconds. The laptop will open the whole office suite (5 applications) simultaneously in less than 3 seconds.
I'm so used to and my requirements were met as expected.
Opinions about a too dark display I can not confirm. Test results or not - I've never worked at full brightness. So I the display bright enough (for me).
The keyboard keys have virtually no tactile feedback with a stroke of 1.5 mm.
Processing: 2 of 5 stars
-----------------------------------------------
In principle, the processing appears good. The hinge acts quality, nothing rattles or creaks. The entire outer side and the inner side with the keypad are made of aluminum. To the display is a plastic frame.
However, here begins the tale of woe.
The first unit was only on three out of four feet. On flat surfaces, it follows that you could folded and unfolded like a blokes chair the notebook wiggle back and forth. This is of course an absolute criterion Committee.
The second device, which was delivered as a replacement, had this "wobble" not. However, I noticed on the second day to a huge gap to the front-left corner of the case. This gap is so great that you easily check a card can insert into the housing interior at this point. On the third day with the loan unit disbanded then the display frame on the right of the screen from. I have then pressed with some pressure back into the snap hook.
In addition, the habituation-needy Touchpad / Clickpad comes. I knew previously only Pads which are basically rigid and yield at point pressure, click and trigger a mouse click. The pad of U430p that's a little different: There on the entire pad noticeable vertical play until I get to the "rigid level", which is then at point pressure triggers a click. This allows me to quasi drumming on the pad and produced as a rattle acting very cheap. For this reason can be found in very many reviews of all the portals as a negative point: rickety touchpad
Now these problems (especially the clearance and the touchpad) more generally, to comply with the one exception seems. That's a pity and inappropriate in this price segment.
Design: 5 of 5 stars
-------------------------------------------------
A very subjective topic. I like the notebook, by design, very very good. It affects quality, noble and elegant. The color of my model is not pure silver, the outside shimmers slightly lilac.
Other:
-------------------------------------------------
Below this (listed above) the criteria U430p is definitely price leader. Of course, I let myself in comments like a better instruct, but there are ACTUAL I think in the 800 class no other 14 "notebook that such equipment brings with even begin. This fact made me even despite the shortcomings moved to to keep the notebook.
In summary it can be said that many of the negative reviews agree: The gaps are an impertinence, and the touchpad is rattling. Nevertheless, I speak from a buy recommendation, if you can look the other way on flaws in the processing and want to get a good hardware ratio as little money.
I thank Amazon for a refund two deals to price reductions.
In addition, I would be happy in the future on the ability to format the written text and to add photos.
