TI is getting worse and worse ...

Warning first: This review involves a relatively special case, which makes the program in version 2014 for me unusable. If you are mainly interested in the user experience on Windows, so please consult the various reviews of other customers rate; I am referring primarily to the rescue media!
I use TrueImage since version 6.0 - at that time I was glad to get a great alternative to more whimsical expectant Ghost. For about version 10 but watch the transformation of True Image away from technical tool and towards an unwieldy Suite with new features. Unfortunately, even the formerly very good support in the form of rapidly appearing of new builds has now been replaced by the issuing of new versions annually. OK, economic might that be a logical step from producer view.
Now, the exotic new features in the Windows version relate to me not so much, since I work mainly with the rescue disk. There, it would be nice if new versions mitbrächten improvements rather than deterioration. In concrete terms, that with me like this: I boot from the rescue media and attack from there on my Windows 2008 server to. For image backups there is a separate release; to gain access I need to register with an appropriate account from the Windows domain and password. The problems was possible with all previous versions of TI (!) - Updates I've really only done so that new network chip driver found their way into the underlying Linux kernel. With TI 2014 but the following will happen: I log in, and you will see a message (new) that the registration has succeeded. Will I then enter a file name, but the greeter comes again - and no matter what I there now text box that I can not access the network resource. The product is obviously completely useless in conjunction with a Windows 2008 server. And believe me, I've tried all possible and impossible entries - prefixed with domain without ... Nothing works. As I said, with previous versions no problems.
I am writing this review only now (Dec 2014), because earlier such errors were quickly beseitgt in new builds. However, the currently available today Build behaves more like that. The now de facto barely existing Acronis support will probably refer to the new product TI 2015 without being able to tell if the problem is really fixed in the V2015 [Update 2014-12-23: see below!]. The famous cat in the bag so.
I realize that this function, which maybe just with MS Server 2008 occurs relatively specifically is and 99% of home users will not affect. Under Windows, the software creates naturally behaved their backups, as well as on USB media or possibly a NAS system (I lack such an untested). Therefore, the at least 2 stars. From my perspective, it is symptomatic of the uneasy transformation of this software that Windows increasingly immature gimmicks are flanged, while the real reason functionality suffers. Even if I have to give up some comfort I take this as an opportunity to build my own boot media with the software "Drive Snapshot". There, the support is excellent, and is obtained over the years steadily new builds.
As far as my special Rant. For the other pros and cons, read the many other reviews that mainly deal with the unneeded by me Windows features.
My desire to Acronis would be a "True Image technichian Edition" with well maintained the rescue media and on Windows only features the "Backup / Recovery / mount Image". But that will probably remain a dream.

Addendum 2014-12-23: Today I had now the opportunity to try the version 2015. The wrongful conduct of rescue media on a Windows 2008 server is resolved. An obvious error is therefore not fixed in the V2014, but corrected only in the paid version sequence. For this I say now times simply nothing further.
