Timeless and beautifully ...

Viva la Vida is my first disc of Coldplay. I must admit that I could have not particularly interested in this band, though I never found the songs really bad.
After I but the great title "Viva la Vida" heard on the radio, I finally decided to buy this album and I can say fortunately, it was not a mistake!
They are about to see an absolute high-quality album where every song is convincing in its own way.
It is so that the quality of the songs opens in fact only after repeated listening, but known to the songs are precisely the best who go just not catchy. In Viva la Vida the reason is mainly due to the layout of the pieces! No title follows the normal verse-chorus-verse-chorus-circuit diagram, but you tend to feel that every song tells its own story - in the form of entirely different and suddenly changing harmonies.
I personally like to boot the melancholy mood that comes into play especially in the songs "Cemeteries Of London", "42" and "Death And All His Friends".
Also worth noting are the instrumentalisation in the background, which are arranged very professional and class (Some songs even almost better than the overlaid vocals ...).

What are not quite so good like that but sometimes significantly differing melodic and rhythmic jumps, where you are not sure whether it is already dealing here with a new title, or whether it is still the same. When "42" for example, I would have liked if he had continously remained calm.
Also, I do not quite understand the meaning of folding of two songs. I like, for example, the second part of "Lovers In Japan / Reign Of Love" better than the first, but it can not (except I reel before) heard separately. Why did they not therefrom easily two extra songs made?
Which brings us to my final drawback: It is indeed around 10 consistently high-quality songs, but there are known always one or the other, of a person less well pleases. Thus I would have liked more titles. On the other hand compensated partially quite long duration of some songs for the rather small number!

Although I, too, miss lyrics in the booklet, but it would not be fair, but deducted a star because the review should focus in the first liner with the music in my opinion!

All in all, is anyone who really likes good, timeless, handmade and mostly calmer melancholy music, this CD is highly recommended!
