I found the world of Cassie, a young woman who has the gift to see spirits. The story starts strong, men are after him and try to kill her. She has no other choice but to flee again and again. Thus we will learn and discover the past of Cassie, how she got there. But even more, it is the future that will reveal many surprises.
This novel is very addictive and does not leave a moment's respite to the reader. It happens a lot. It is an urban fantasy novel, so we find vampires, wizards, ghosts, psychics, witches, werewolves and many other fantastic creatures. Each small group has its own characteristics, its own capacity, its own rules and leaders. It is very interesting to discover the internal structure and the internal politics of each species. Everything is very well built and developed.
The characters are anything but bland. They have their spice and character. They have not Manichean personalities and it is very hard to determine what their intentions and goals. Cassie is a very attractive young woman. It is not the wonder woman, super strong who can fight, shoot and handle any type of weapon. His only power: see ghosts ... it is not very useful when you have a band of vampires in pursuit. It is awkward, very human and very simple. It is easily to put in its place and it's very nice. It makes us much more accessible.
After Mircea was Pritkin and a vampire and mage, both very different, but each with many attractions. They will be full of surprises in the next volumes!
