I own the Tritton headset now for a few months and I could test it extensively in the meantime. The reason why I bought a surround headset is obvious, you get into multiplayer games simply much more with which opponents are located a lot better and thus you can improve your own playing style definitely. Although I also have a great 5.1 system (speakers of Cantons Chrono series and RX-V2067 Yamaha amplifier), but by the Gaming Headset you dive deeper into the easy online experience from.
