To hell again!

Due to various reviews of journals associated with the very good reviews on the home page of the devil, I've decided, this Soundbar to buy with Sub and Raumfeld Connector, to have here a really good system in the hope that one because its THX Logo 5.1 System forehead can offer. The order was placed through the online store at Devil in conjunction with a 12% coupon for a total of 909 incl. Shipping. After a total of one week waiting period was already highly anticipated investment by DHL, divided into three packages were delivered. Christmas reloaded so to speak.

Well, I of course immediately serve up some grub. First, the bar and then the sub were unpacked. Everything was packed very neatly and safely, here there is really nothing to complain about. Several accessories such as div. HDMI connector angle and small stuff were also included. The Raumfeld Connector I had once unopened. Then we went to the building, actually all self-explanatory, the accompanying printed manual is to actually not needed. I once began to put my TV a little higher, as otherwise the lower part of my TVs is cut, this was only done once provisionally with the packaging of the PS4. Incidentally, the sub's been a huge part and really hard, but also the bar. Then it went to the wiring.

First of all, I closed my Playstation 4 with a HDMI 1.4 cable to the HDMI 1 IN connector of the sound bar. Another HDMI 1.4 cables I had then of the soundbar from the HDMI output to your TV to HDMI 1 IN. Then Playstation 4 + TV turned on. OK, there is no image on your TV to HDMI 1 on TV. All right, I thought to myself, seems as if the bar, the HDMI signal is not looped through to the TV when the bar though infected, but is not turned on. Pretty much the first KO criterion. Good or not, then I have turned the bar. After a long wait still no signal on TV, of course you had a remote control (even this later) the channel HMDI 1 Select. After a while I decided to try just one more HDMI input of the bar and put the cable from the Playstation to the HDMI 2 in the bar. Behold, after a few seconds I had the picture and sound. Blu-Ray Batman The Dark Night purely in the Playstation, a few settings in the Playstation regarding sound output and lo and behold, the Bar indicates DTS. Preview After half an hour I was just thrilled. The sound is awesome, pure cinema experience, the Sub expresses powerful but not pushy around the room. Only thing I noticed, at times was a clear crackling heard, but not during playback, rather in my tinkering down, and possibly in chapter leaps as far as I can remember.

But then I wanted to combine my other devices with the bar, and walked the real issues going on. WD TV, I got not on the bar to run, and the Sky receiver from time to time shows an image. First thought that would possibly be in any settings of each device, or possibly even to the cables, since I no longer focusing knew exactly what HDMI standard this corresponded; but no matter what I tried to adjust, or I took the cable of the Playstation 4 Kombi, swapped the HDMI inputs at the bar, and from time to a picture on the television, but only for seconds and then long nothing. I was pretty clueless.

An alternative solution would have been that I connect all HDMI outputs of each device to the TV and then go to the bar with an optical cable. This I had tentatively also tried, but no matter what setting I made here on the equipment, there was always only PCM at the bar. I think this is the fault of my TV, but I had at least no more problems with the image super. As already mentioned, an alternative solution would have been, but is a pure uncompressed PCM 2-channel stereo signal not imho is the same quality as when DTS at the bar, if necessary. Even DTS-HD on BD arrives.

Since I did not want to be satisfied with this solution, I had contacted the same evening the hotline of the devil. No waiting and very friendly contact to the same time to take this in advance. Of course I spoke to the same subject matter with the HDMI inputs, with the question whether it could be here to a technical defect, or whether this is known problem. The answer was simply: Yes, the problem is unfortunately known and there is no solution. We are working together with producers on this issue, because there are problems with the HDCP copy protection. We are trying to fix the problem with an update software, has priority but currently the recently released Cinebase, so here can not be predicted how long it would take. Hello There? Devil distributes knowingly devices on their online store site with known bugs? I could not believe it at first. After a lengthy conversation with the staff and the search for another solution (connect all devices via Toslink and coaxial with the soundbar, would have the appropriate sound formats specify the bar), we agreed that the bar goes back again to hell, the parts are picked up by DHL. The staff was able to get on the phone the way give any information about whether the bar by dragging the HDMI signal to the TV, even if the bar is not turned on. But it was me then no matter, the decision was made. That same evening, I packed everything back neatly as delivered together. The Raumfeld Connector I had not even unpacked.

Oh, issue remote. The remote control makes a high impression because of anodized aluminum, but the buttons felt like at my cheap JVC stereo from the period before the Millennium. Unfortunately it did not work, upward curved keys that feel under pressure as if you squeeze the air out of it.

All in all, I am very disappointed by the soundbar, but much more by the manufacturer. Distribute products in our own shop, which will be delivered with a known error, does not go. Also because it is with these functions, of course, rightly advertised. I would possibly again seen over it when the preferred cabling from me would have worked on the HDMI inputs of the box, and possibly a different problem, which would have had no effect, would be. To bad, the sound really convinced, was superior to describe it with the words from my favorite football commentator. I'm going now but must look at the old slightly more expensive Focal dimension.
