I along with a smoke detector (ABUS) ordered this battery, I wanted to hang as a result of new smoke detectors-duty at the ceiling. The idea was to a smoke detector to purchase a long-lasting battery, so you will not be startled in the coming years by a low battery alarm and then maybe have to climb under the covers at night to stop the smoke alarm. Surprisingly, the alarm came "battery empty" in the first month. A (very expensive, so I do not know how reliable) battery tester shows a voltage of slightly less than 8 volts. This seems to fit to the fact that the smoke detector kept the battery also empty. I now put the 9 volt block in the smoke detector, which comes bundled. Since then no battery alarm more. Whether error of battery or incompatible with this smoke alarm I do not know; unhappy I was yet.
