The album is perhaps not quite as concise as its predecessor "Madman Across the Water", the atmosphere is more casual-relaxed, but it takes its place among the masterpieces of the early years. again found here folk, blues and country rock, the album sounds a bit like the stones plates from that time, the cynical "i think i'm going to kill myself" reminds lyrically and musically strongly of the kinks. "Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters" is a great track, Bernie Taupin is once again deal with New York. beautiful sound, played well, especially Davey Johnstone, the services today in Elton John playing the guitar managed. a pretty curiosity is the alternate version of "slave" as a bonus: from the country ballad is a completely crazy boogie-woogie.
