At the band Against Me! went seemingly unnoticed by this change.
"Transgender Dysphoria Blues" segues seamlessly from the previous album "White Crosses".
Who still suspected Sellout here, did not understand the band and probably slept through the last years. The development of folky-acoustic punk early work to the catchy things of the present time was a strict and foreseeable.
I have been the "As The Eternal Cowboy" and find this development perfectly understandable. Whether that's still punk I find absolutely secondary. The music is great, the lyrics are intelligent and earwigs creates the band churning. Everything in the paint so.
The new album brings 10 new songs in just under 30 minutes. Some may find too short, my attention span is the very opposite. Dear Hits 30 minutes than 60 minutes and half are filler ...
The CD comes in a digi-pack, with a somewhat scarce booklet. The texts are indeed printed, but quite small. Alarm glasses ...; D
Overall, the album unfortunately does not approach my fave album "Searching For A Former Clarity". Nevertheless, it remains a very good rock album away from the mainstream.
Against Me! Fans buy it anyway likely everyone else should want to risk an ear. The band is much more than the hype about the history of the Gender / singer!
