Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 pocket SCR12ROW / B (elegant black case with stand function and automatic wake-up) black (accessories)

Customer Review

Once again there is a lot of reading.
But at the price of brazen cover one may quiet also learn a bit more about it.

NOTE: Here I am doing something that I otherwise hardly have the heart: I raise the rating from three to four stars.
Reason: I have not been lubricated by Sony (it would be nice ...), discovered in everyday use but a few really handy features that surfaced in only after massive "practice".
Five stars is not possible because of the outrageous price.
The review text I have supplemented or amended accordingly.
---

The Z2-back filthy incredibly fast, but it can be also difficult to clean.
So: Case Create!

There are a lot of cheap offers - but if you look at the photos a little closer, grabs a mostly pure horror.
Since you have a fancy tablet; and to the then pack possible potthässlich? - No, please do not, then prefer to chase a few more Eurocken through the chimney.

Unpacking
Cardboard box with plastic insert, in the SCR12 (no, really?) With pickled Schauf fabric upholstery, a leaflet with "important information", ie Garantiekram, the eh no bad reads. And also do not need, because everything can be found online.
Nothing else.
Yes, because what is missing ...
- I know how the Z2 is clamped in the shell, scrape without material. But knowing the other users also?
- You can fold the envelope in every possible way, eg by the Z2 with attached headphones to stand;. but Sony does not tell how to do it.
What is that, Sony? Since you throw a shell on the market, which is just about everything can (except mowing and take out the garbage) - and then you deliver an origami puzzle, instead of explaining with a few step-by-step Bildchen how the best thing folds, if you want this and do that. The few sketches on the cardboard backing are not particularly helpful.
That would have been "important information"; not the Garantiekram that one really does not need.

Appearance and materials
The SCR12 is chic and fun by design, exactly the Z2. On me the envelope acts in its simplicity even almost "military", reminds me of the weapons design of Heckler and Koch; I feel but as rather positive. Simple is beautiful.

The SCR12 feels outside and slightly soft, "velvety" plastic, inside as with rubber coated plastic to; and exactly it is likely they also exist.
The materials act properly, feel good, handy and "valent" on.
The shell does not smell, probably thoroughly be waterproof.

Immediately after unpacking itself urged me on a phrase: Klapperatismus.
The shell is segmented namely, basically consists of individual elongated plates which are connected by "hinges", that is thinner spots.
The whole flutters around then so, is not much better when the Z2 is in its case.
In two places (front and rear), there is a broad ridge, which allows you to set up the Z2 also headphone friendly to. Does not work particularly well, "wobbly" would still gestrunzt. The ridge is this that is too shallow.

On top there's a flat wall with a weak magnet in the house shall keep the shell closed from open. Works out reasonably; a more powerful magnet would have been much better.

Weight
The shell weighs 285 grams, according to my scale; Sony says that my balance would not have any slats on the fence: 259 grams should be supposedly's fact. Well, we believe the time ...
Z2 and SCR12 bring together 715 grams on the scale, with the Ease of Use is therefore over. But that's all right.

Z2 purely
The Z2 is clipped at the corners as usual in such cases; the shell leads them with its own, quite thin but sturdy plastic rear wall, on which rests the Z2 with the back. The back wall is not the entire surface firmly attached to the rear of the actual shell, can be angled away from this.

The Z2 holds good in the shell, I do not fear that it might come off accidentally.

Accessibility
All controls and interfaces remain accessible, a cutout for the rear camera is present; but you do not need, because the camera for snapshots is too bad.
Opening the SIM, SD and USB flap is a little fummeliger because the sheath a few millimeters above stands. You have to open the envelope the way, in order to access the USB port; the locking tab is exactly over it.

Loading
The Z2 can be in the envelope via charging station (eg DK39.) Charge - but only if you up the envelope and the "fins" works backwards. This is fiddly and annoying. Also, because parts of the shell, unfortunately the inside, then herumbammeln behind the charging station: In such places, there's usually a little to a lot of dust and other dirt. At least if you are not married. : D
Dirt then adheres to the inside of the casing and lubricate the faq's display; annoying.
Supplements: You can fold the cover so that the inside is not resting on the ground during loading. However, it is somewhat tricky.

Handling general
First of all: The Origami qualities of the shell are all well and good but practicable the pleated is often not.
You can fold the cover so that the slightly beveled Z2 is on the table, but the thing is pretty shaky.
You can fold the cover so that the Z2 half floating in the air to use the rarely stupid placed headphone output still can. But put them slate look and the thing falls like a house of cards.
Supplement: In the meantime I had the envelope for several days in the field. And I must admit that I was able to reach exactly the correct position of Z2 in fact any situation. If you fold the SCR12 other than those specified on the box, you can even achieve a very stable position with only a slight inclination and without Versiffen the inside, ideal for typing. A stable position that allows even a viable use of the headphone output is not me but still succeeded.
A few folding variants are therefore really useful; the Sony on the box outlined unfortunately not so. : D

As Cases
Ok. The Z2 is fully protected, the lateral edges remain open, enjoying the slightly overhanging cover nevertheless a certain protection. The Z2 feels solid with Collapsed shell and good, does not slip even one of his hands.
The magnetic closure flap is sufficient to keep the shell closed. Should play Frisbee is so terrible.
The "unpacking" is a little more complicated and lengthy than with "conventional" non-segmented case. As a bit of practice is probably required for the fluppt intuitive.
Negative: If one the Z2 with flush under batted envelope from the inside of the casing rests on the ground. Since this is rubberized and tacky feel, is also liable of all dirt in it. And the one partially not easy get down again; even dry debris as crumbs or tobacco stick as Hulle on the inside of the envelope.

As a stand
Also ok. The inside is rubberized, very handy. On the lower shell inside there are two transverse grooves, in which one can make the Z2: As it keeps very well, also shifts not readily not slip. In addition, you can set up the Z2 also off the grooves; also it holds due to the grippy material very well.
Here, Sony has reflected, the erection works better and more reliably than in most other cases.

Pros and cons
PRO
+ Simple design without Schnökendöken
+ Pleasant, robust and waterproof materials acting
+ Useful protective function
+ Anti-slip setting up in almost any angle
+ Charging with charging station, having to friemeln without Z2 completely out of the sleeve

CONTRA
- Cheeky, shit bolder Price
- A little fiddly handling
- Folding functions partly useless and impractical
- Fixed inside dust and dirt, is in the open state on the ground at, filthy therefore fast
- Magnetic lock bit too weak
- Still porkeligeres opening SD / SIM and USB flap
- Envelope must be opened for charging via charging station

Overall impression
In Order. The shell is outrageously expensive, to be handled by the Faltgedöns a bit cumbersome.
Haptic the SCR12 is therefore not quite exactly brilliant.
But she mastered the basic functions "sleeve" and "stand" without much censure, offers some useful folding possibilities, makes a durable, water resistant impression and looks reasonable, simple and even a bit of classy.
Currently, I simply do not see any alternatives to this Geldvernichter.

Hint
I read that the magnetic closure flap slightly bothered when established Z2.
You can pinch between Z2 backplane and cover back the flap simply, already it is no longer hanging in front of the display.
Since you can but actually even draufkommen. :)
