Too many construction defects / spotlight returns!

after an old halogen spotlights was broken over a basement finish, I have this LED spotlight hoping to have ordered a couple of years alone! The floodlights hanging in about 7m height to a garden wall and lit up the stairs of a basement waste stream. As I come to the flood only by ladder, I wanted no longer possible to close in on the floodlights for example, to change the bulbs.

Now the first problem: When I opened the connection cover, the sealing ring came to meet me halfway. Since the seal should work properly (otherwise the connection inside säuft from), I made the sealing surface clean and have reattached the seal and fixed with some glue drops. In 7 meters above sea level on a ladder will not have to fumble a seal into the housing. I noticed that you can pivot the motion only vertically, but not horizontally. I can not say yet whether the problem is (Addendum: The motion detector reacts to certain lateral movement, so that him not horizontally wasting needs).

To clamp the cord, you have to pass through the terminal cover, which is screwed with four screws on / via the terminal block on the floor lamp there only. Then the cable goes through a strain relief to terminal strips. There was too dangerous with the fumbling in 7 meters height, I have led the connecting cable only by the cover and have a length of cable connected to the terminal block, which then hung loosely down. I have this piece of cable then connected with a terminal block to the power cord at the hood. So I could screw on the lamp on the wall and afterwards screw on the cover without having to fumble the large cable into the lamp. The old lamp had just behind a flap on the chandelier connection with cable gland, which was significantly easier to install.

It produces a quality of light. It's amazing what can achieve the LED technology.

Addendum: Eben at dusk it began to rain and the spotlights went on and no longer !!! The rain must have caused the spotlights. I then
the controller, which controls the light-sensitive switch in the direction of "dark" and turned the lamp went out again. I've been watching this thing once. I give
only 2 stars. It can not be that a motion sensor reacts to rain!

The spotlight is solid. The lamp housing is die-cast aluminum; the motion detector is made of plastic. The windscreen is solid sealed.

Pro:

Cons:

fummeliger connection. Impossible standing collect on a ladder with a connector cable into the housing and leading to the terminal block
Sealing the cover lid came to meet me
Already within 2 weeks of first signs of rust at the mounting bracket and screws!
The motion detector reacts to rain. Not even no orientation of the movement!

Addendum: In All Forms of rain the spotlights went on and all the desperate attempts that responses are taken of rain failed!
I have given up in exasperation and a halogen spotlight Steinel HS 5140 mounted to base the prompt, the electrical connection problems
was and the seals are firmly in their grooves. After disassembly of the radiator appeared at the mounting bracket and the screw first traces of rust,
although the radiator was still hanging none 2 weeks on the wall!

I'll send the Brilliant LED spotlight back!
