In the manual I could find no evidence that only port support 1 and 4 DHCP ... very a pity.
Conclusion: super speed (last full VDSL 50, was previously with me rather VDSL 40), but lots of problems with the device, if you still want to connect to a server. On the internet is teeming with a similar number of like-minded people who have a lot of problems with Netgear ... shame.
Addendum 21.08.2012: Ok, apparently this device was broken. Then times changed, update follows.
Addendum 22.08.2012: Identical problems with another device. Seems it to be a mass problem. Too Bad.
Addendum 30.09.2012: Netgear has confirmed to me the problems and it announced a firmware update, but without corresponding dates. I will report here.
Addendum 28.10.2012: Still no firmware update. Speed is still pretty fast, but misses missing loopback still painful. What still is a problem for me and was also mentioned by others: The configuration is anything but simple. Here gehts less about the old-fashioned menu, you can live with. But apparently the port forwarding function not as they should. I have spent countless hours. Either everything was always open or close everything. Although specific functions for selective port clearances exist, these are not readily implemented correctly. A firmware update is so really urgent! Nevertheless: Anyone looking for a different DSL modem only, will thus be happy. But from the moment you even a little wants to do something with the network, virtually endless fumbling is inevitable. I hope that there is an update this year ... follow more updates.
Addendum 24.11.2012: For three days finally a firmware update available. The most obvious change is a more modern admin interface. But is nice otherwise. What really likes, finally the existing loopback. Even tens of vulnerabilities must have been closed because finally all intend closed ports are really closed! Is so nice that the registered port forwarding will no longer appear. When creating a new but they are displayed as available! Changes are still not possible. And is really bitter that the previously faulty port is 2 now disabled. But is not everything in the release notes for the firmware update. I therefore stand by my rating of 3 out of 5 stars because otherwise everything has remained the same. Oh, and very importantly, the router on and off after the update! A simple reboot is wrong luminous diodes at the front. Oh Netgear ...
Addendum 27.11.2012: Now the firmware update is no longer available on the site and only the delivery firmware. Why? No Idea. But this service forces me now to withdraw another star. 2 of 5 stars. Under these circumstances, unfortunately really only recommended for adventurous users. : - /
Last Update: 12/12/2012: In the meantime, the firmware is available 3.0.0.5. The thing with the port forwarding was not to solve different than the original firmware aufzuspielen again, all port forwarding to write down on paper, then remove the router and aufzuspielen the new firmware. And then again manually enter ... This procedure has been recommended to me also the support.
I remain so in my final rating of 2/5 stars. The device itself is really great if you want to use it only as a DSL modem. Quick is the data transfer rate and it also looks chic. But normally you will also realize the full potential. Of the Netgear DGND3800B offers a lot. Only he gambled it unfortunately miserably. The delivery is a better firmware beta version and the service of Netgear strives. If everything is fine, if you do not partially up to 149, - Euro would lie down for this router, the Netgear advertises as "High Performance". I find it hard to separate itself from service and the device. But alone the countless hours at the beginning and an overburdened service force to me to stay in 2 stars.
I plan no further updates my review. If, however, something very positive odes negative happen, then already. :)
Addendum 12/07/2013: I regret but npch make an addendum and lower my rating to become a star. Yesterday namely went nothing more. I thought the worst, namely the router would be broken. But no, it was even more uncomfortable (because otherwise I would have bought another): The settings were gone, all. So again even configure ages. And unfortunately, I get also the WPS not disabled in the new firmware, even though it is classified as a security risk. Well ... a router that simply deletes all settings. I had previously never even. :-(
