Picture quality Video: under good lighting conditions, the quality is top - but when it becomes clear noisy dark, where you may also just do not expect miracles in such a small camera.
Picture quality Photo: There are 3 resolutions: 8 MP, 12 MP and 16 MP (interpolated). The picture quality is quite good for my previous tests. The actual image resolution is identical in all 3 settings. The 8 MP are in reality only a part of the 12 MP (ie slightly longer focal length) and the 16 MP are just interpolated, which not only larger files but better quality.
Some sales information is unfortunately how today so common, some fined:
The sensor has 12 MP and probably not 14MP.
The battery life is specified with 2.5 h, actually reaches them but only 1 to 1.5 h. But is is still a spare battery case.
Whether the Cam actually has an image stabilizer - no idea - does not need it but with a fisheye lens actually.
The 10x digital zoom with Full HD recordings not there - but a ActionCam Zoom would be eh nonsense. What you can select are 3 levels for the shot (wide - medium and narrow) which is itself still is a significant wide angle with tight.
Choosing function between ISO Auto and ISO 800 (for night shots) brings no difference in picture quality.
The vaunted function SyncroShot (filming and photographing at the same time) is a gag - the resolution of the photos corresponds to the HD movie format (2.1MP), because you can instead also export any frame from the video file.
A bit disappointing and the waterproof case with the curved lens which no sharp underwater shots is permitted. While other manufacturers have by default converted to flat lenses in the underwater housing, the Rollei has apparently overslept.
But like most Actioncams comes the Rollei from Chinese manufacturers AEE, the casing of the cam is identical to Actionpro S21 and Frantec BeastVison, the cams are only in the inner life and in terms of firmware differently. I therefore use my Rollei 5s now the underwater housing of the S21.
Nevertheless 5 stars for this camera!
