After the disastrous experience with the Canon imageFORMULA P-215 I was afraid that document scanners for consumers are simply not yet ready for use. Fortunately, I have not tried the Fujitsu because even if the device is not cheap: it's worth every penny! To always have archived all important documents handy and saves a lot of clean time, increases security (cloud backup) and is extremely convenient when you need to quickly send documents. We currently build a house - without the scanner would have to digitize the documents hours, if not days lasted.
A positive feature is:
+ High scanning speed (about 3 seconds per page)
+ The default settings are just fine: automatically adjusts the resolution and color / B & W mode function reliably and save space (Average plain text documents are with me + duplex scanning
+ Good blank page detection, which errs only wrinkled or strongly folded pages
Liable + Very good cut-sheet feeder, the copes well with larger stacks of paper, if the paper is not too thin and strong together
+ Easy to use (use only the PDF creation, but there are numerous other modes)
+ Very good alignment correction (skew and pages are automatically aligned correctly)
+ For a document scanner fairly good software for the operation with only minor weaknesses (eg manual removal of empty / unwanted pages before saving)
+ After more than 1,000 scanned pages and various user error on my part (staples forget ...) remains impeccable function and quality of the scans
+ Very compact
Negative falls on:
- Requires additional power supply, no supply via USB port
- Could use some more scanning material digest (but that's whining at a high level)
- Software industry average cobbled together (but perfectly acceptable)
- Predictive text of PDFs might be better
Conclusion:
The document scanner is an integral part of my everyday life and represents an enormous relief. Here you really can even save labor and time. So I would buy the device at any time.
