Wülker is probably the most gifted jazz trumpeter currently present. And with "Up" published born in Bonn musicians have meanwhile eighth album. The 13 titles of the new plant Wülker is musically supported by shallow Hammond organ sounds, gentle drums, piano sounds and bass guitars. However, is at the forefront of all the songs, of course, the sound of Nils Wülkers trumpet. The vast number of titles is pleasantly quiet and consistent and balanced. Musically arranged perfectly and provided with a lot of atmosphere resounds the trumpet timeless and complex and passes the title on their own special way. For the vocal additions to some titles to Wülker then can also back very well-known support. And so to give "Up" among other well-known singers like Xavier Naidoo, Max Mutzke, Lauren Flynn or David McAlmond the honor and enrich the already more than worth listening to music with their typical landscapes voices and vocal lines. Taken together, these vocal additions expand the range of songs from the album and let "Up" so to be a remarkable listening experience. And in the middle of the album surprised Wülker then in collaboration with David McAlmond and breaks the atmosphere of "Up" with the almost funky and danceable song especially "Three Grains Of Saffron". Once again, a testament to the many facets of this exceptional artist.
