The Picture Control options are amazing!
-For Optimal settings can be: sharp a DVD on a Full HD screen stung! The color intensity remains almost intact.
-Einziges Drawback: Carnivorous memory function; Despite 512MB graphics card (is recommendated) the DVD is not running 100 percent liquid. Once or twice put the image for
a fraction of a second. This I find but not disturbing.
So far, all BDs run correctly. (BeiCorel WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray, there were some complaints)
A deduction of points there for the absolutely lousy contrast of the image. Despite LED LCD screen I have (only in this program) is not black, but a mediocre gray. In Version 8, I had an almost perfect image. Even the blanks the screen has little effect.
It is also annoying that special keys on the keyboard (such as play or stop) are not recognized by the program.
Conclusion:
Anyone with gray can make friends rather than black and BD Media Player needs to WinDVD 10 should increase. Especially when playing movies in SD - quality it really pays off.
Nevertheless, I find the price a bit too high. So if you already have a BD - player possesses, but also wants to look at a PC or notebook, would be better to wait a little. Other Video Player Companies working in part already in mind to allow play BD. Then the prices are likely to fall slightly.
Update 22/03/2010:
For some time now I have problems with Absürzen while playing some BD, also for new DVDs. Corel's support came only the message to install the latest WinDVD update that the frequency of crashes is reduced, it has my problem but not resolved yet. Microsoft was there much more helpful and responded to my bug report with the recommendation to update the graphics drivers. This was me not yet possible because of the latest NVidia drivers for GeForce 9 Series a Fehlermelung spitting while trying to install.
Obviously WinDVD provides sufficient compatibility with "older" drivers. Mine is from the end of 2008 and according to the program "Driver Detective" still relevant!
This problem seems not to occur in CyberLink PowerDVD 9 Ultra. One of my friend used PowerDVD for a few months and is very pleased with it.
So long as Corel does not eliminate this problem I recommend to all who have not installed the latest video driver to add itself PowerDVD. This program appears to offer an equal image quality with fewer resources. However, I found the controls a bit confusing at first glance. More accurate I can not say because I have so far only superficially concerned myself with this, however.
Update 11.06.2010:
Since kitch time I have suddenly struggling with crashes of other programs that access all on the drive. So it turned out that my problem with WinDVD, and all other programs, is 64 due to charging failure of the drive of Microsoft Windows Vista driver bit. Why this has not occurred from the beginning, I do not entirely incomprehensible. Since installing the operating system in October 09 For I have not carried out any changes to the drive. As it stands now I will therefore, provided no helpful response from Microsoft on my bug report comes, either again rely on the 32-bit version (at the time the system worked properly), or even upgrade to Windows 7.
The weak contrast, which I initially complained was due to poor screen settings.
WinDVD 2010 gets me so now 5 Stars. The program itself works so properly and to a high load on the graphics card is still ausszusetzen nothing.
