I have long considered myself the new BDP-S580 with integrated WLAN to buy, but then chose to about 90 EUR cheaper BDP-S480. To integrate the device into the network, I have not used the recommended Sony USB wireless stick (seems a little expensive to me) but the Netgear Universal WiFi Adapter WNCE2001. Works great, is cheaper by 25 EUR - and because you connect the Netgear adapter to the Ethernet jack USB ports both remain on the player free (eg for hard disk and USB stick). All connections and setup of the player was easily incl. Firmware update via Internet. The playback of music and videos and displaying the photographic collection from Windows 7 computer in your network (DLNA streaming) works perfectly. The web contents offered are good, with the built-in browser works even browsing the web just fine - URL and text entries are a bit uncomfortable for lack keyboard. All in all I am very satisfied with what offers the player at this price. Oh, I almost forgot this: the player also plays CDs, DVDs and Blue Ray discs - the latter in impressive picture and sound quality.
