Design and appearance: The Desire S has the same screen size as well as the Desire, is a whole, however, smaller and more compact. It has an excellent handling and all buttons are very easy to operate. Getting used to the USB and charger connection point is on the side, at the Desire this was down. The Desire S looks insanely good (color: silver) and is really an eye-catcher. The aluminum case in a cast is top handles and the remaining attachments are provided with good gaps. Other reviews that I can complain at Desire poor processing not confirm because my Desire is as well as the Desire S processed top and without error.
Ease of use: Is as the previous top, I have a feeling that the touchpad works even more precisely. The switch to Android 2.3 was not a problem and is better, as this will also come with the Desire, you can not outdo it. Getting used to the touch-main keys below the display, they do not always react and you have to practice a little where and how these are best to touch ... But this is not a problem, however, is a change. The pushbuttons of Desire saw in my opinion not so good, but they had an immediate direct feedback due to the pressure (feedback of touch buttons at Desire S by short vibration).
Processor: but is not in any case faster than the Desire, so that it becomes immediately apparent. The Desire was in my opinion, even very rapidly. Sometimes, however, it has hung or stuttered out, this has not yet happened to me at the Desire S.
Loudspeakers and acoustics: Here I note a marked improvement. The internal speaker is better by a mile and also the internal speaker for phone calls has a better sound. Top!
WLAN: The referenced ALLEGED wireless problem has put me off initially but is completely exaggerated. If the smartphone obscured completely and willfully, the wireless internet service drops significantly. But this is not a normal state. In everyday use of NO occurs Beeinträchtrigung. Compared to the Desire of the wireless reception is poor at holding one back, but the 1st smartphone is never completely obscured and secondly also decreases the reception at Desire in such a procedure. In addition, do not use fire and water simultaneously to: An aluminum housing has physically course effects, as evidenced at this point in the Wi-Fi antenna or reception.
I repeat it yet: For me no Beeiträchtigung be observed !!!
It should be noted this is not that I have contacted HTC in advance whether a wireless problem is in any way / is known and a recall or the like is desired. This is not the case!
Total:
However, the Desire S is convincing in every respect is a facelift of the Desire and not an entirely new and innovative smartphone. The switch from Desire was worth but only with the idea that the old unit can be weitervekrauft.
A new acquisition of the Desire S is mM definitely worth it because there are at this price in my opinion no better phone. An Apple product came for me never in question. The Incredible S only costs but about 20EUR more to me is far too large and unwieldy, and has in addition to the HD features and the better camera is not much more to offer.
