1. Processing, Design
Visually, the Nextbase works best processed. The sculpture seems valuable and desing demanding. All buttons are accessible, a DVD can also be while driving without trouble changing. In addition, the USB port is free accessible.
The Odys looks cheaper. However, the fit is ok and here are all the buttons easily accessible. The USB port is freely accessible laterally, inserted the SD card from the top. A DVD can easily switch by children, because the screen as the Nextbase folds forward.
When CMX design is top, however, all the buttons are on top of the rim, so that this can be problematic in entsprechnder bracket. In addition, the DVD door open to the back and the player for the holder must be removed.
2. The picture
Nextbase has a very weak display compared to Odys and CMX. The low resolution does the rest, added a very small viewing angle.
Odys has been a very good picture, the CMX 1024 still tops with 800x600. Favorite clearly CMX here.
3. Sound
All 3 players should have no problems with a "normal" car. I'm talking here of 140 km / h on the motorway and a 5-year-old car.
4. Formats
As previously written, I use a lot of SD cards or USB sticks. The safest acts here of CMX. The swallows quite a lot. Nextbase creates only 2 of 4 films in MP4 - HQ does not go.
Odys can play 3 test films, but also gets no AVI or HQ on the series. CMX creates all MP4 movies and even some DivX, but also no HQ.
Purchase DVDs swallow all without a murmur and stuttering. However, I have not tested DVD. The following applies to users of OTR - CMX is the ideal choice!
5. Menu control
Although Odys has good icons, but is fundamentally bad. To work through on a stick into a film it needs already a certain degree of creativity. If you've ended up in a folder will not get you back, unless you start forward again.
Nextbase has but poor Icons (base = Windows 3.1 ???) offers an intuitive application. Much better than Odys. CMX is here in front of both devices, since both optical and control for me fit.
6. 2nd Monitor
In Nextbase and Odys the 2nd monitor is powered by the main unit. Both manufacturers pack both an A / V cable at, as well as a cable for Power supply from DOM => SUB. This fits so. In Odys is regulated via the DOM, the volume of the SUB. Regardless, both devices can be addressed separately.
When CMX omitted this, because only one device is available.
7. Mounting
Only Nextbase is a fairly reasonable attachment available. Here there is a "robust" plate with mounting straps that are attached to the headrest.
Odys provides each Monitor 2 narrow straps are available, the more poorly than do their service law.
Important for both is to know that the angle of the headrest is decisive for how well can see the child. Does not fit the slope, an appropriate viewing angle and the Digital Nextbase must be given, not bring.
CMX provides no attachment available. Here one has to rely on third-party.
The mounting is a general theme, although in principle the shape of the head restraints is critical. Everyone needs self-worth in the end. The CMX was intended as a single solution that is placed between the two front seats so that both children use only 1 monitor. Here failed my attempt to find a reasonable matching arm that can grab the quite thick device safely. After all, we are talking about 5 cm thick.
8. DVB-T
Applies only CMX and I can not really evaluate. According ueberallfernsehen.de we need in our area an active antenna to be able to receive a signal at all. Since the player only has a passive antenna, there was expected to be a picture. DVB-T is just only under certain conditions "everywhere" a topic. The differences are regionally just too serious as that one could deal with this topic without detailed knowledge and evaluate.

I have all 3 devices returned because none can convince me. As I have written previously used my Nokia N8. This means that the films are primarily available in formats that I can handle it. And these are not just MP4 files, but also DivX / AVI and HQ movies. The CMX would be my favorite because of the image and the file processing. Top is also the manual that detail gives information about everything - even codecs. Here Odys and Nextbase can abgucken just about anything. Especially Odys Stümpert with its Manual.
When CMX fails a purchase at the lack of support. So I stick to my Nokia, I can let the sound via FM transmitter running on the system here. In addition, the viewing angle is clearly better than any 3 players. Add to this that I think it 4 - my Nokia does 8 films a year - even if the image is relatively small. Annual leave is history and no one has bothered it, that there were only 9 instead of 20 cm. I'm not saying that the 3 units are bad, but they were not to be bought from my perspective value. There was no outstanding feature that this would have justified.
My ranking of the DVD player would turn out like this:
1. CMX => Picture, Sound, processing, 10-inch, resolution, navigation, formats, DVB-T (optional)
2. Odys => Picture, Sound, processing, 9 inches, resolution
3. Nextbase => processing, mounting
