Since I have the Sata places my mainboard completely exhausted, I looked around for an alternative port. I was skeptical at first, and have yet decided dan luckily for this card. Sowol in UEFI as well as in Win8.1 the map was immediately recognized, and the connected SATA burner works without problems. My hard drives I leave directly to the motherboard, since I (still) do not want a big trying to do with transfer rates. The burner also works from UEFI from (I could win 8.1 install on the card without any problem).
