We are now very satisfied owner of a Melitta Cafeo Solo. We had to date a DeLonghi ESAM 3000B which has but after 3 years left the service. We can now compare the two machines fairly well, though the DeLonghi is slightly more expensive but. The decision for the Melitta came about fairly good price and very nice design. The first start-up was smooth, very quiet compared grinder has us already very well, but coffee with nice crema is very hot and it tastes absolutely amazing !!! One could raise the temperature, but this is not necessary. To clean the Solo can also decompose well. The water tank and bean container are smaller but still adequate in comparison to the Delonghi. The Bedinung is "foolproof". Another advantage over the ESAM is the simultaneous brewing 2 cups. When ESAM 3000 more water is simply spent what coffee can be a bit bland in taste. The solo grinds 2x during the brewing process and the coffee tastes like the one-cup terms, tasty :-) Conclusion: Who can do without the milk frother is well served with the solo. We can only advise to buy and after a long search, we have in this price range have found a better machine, the Melitta zumals not nearly as cheap seems like the rest of the field.
Update July 2015 Now almost 5 1/2 years are rum and solo runs still complain without. Today I have seen it for 222.00 attending daytime courses cheaper you can not get a fully automatic machine where the coffee still tastes like on the first day !! We've hit rough times, moreover, how many have we mugs from the solo rausgeholt, there are approximately 14,500 !!! And we proceeded truly moderate at the bill ...
