- Light weight
- Compact dimensions
- Comfortable, functional operation
- Easy set-up
- Quality finish
- Integrated without integrated support, because this is already in my EasyAcc iPad Mini Case
After I first looked at the Logitech Ultrathin that handles excellent, but for my taste a little too expensive, I quickly came across this product from anchors. Since I already have a EasyAcc iPad mini casing which serves as a support for the iPad in the unfolded state, the keyboard should contain no support and instead concentrate on the essentials. For my purposes, the product of anchors is almost ideal.
The appearance is somewhat reminiscent of the keyboards from Cherry: the design is flat, the keyboard layout as well and the device is held largely in matte black. The keys are white and / or blue labels and a small blue multifunction LED is edged top right. The On / Off switch and the Connect button is mounted behind. With dimensions of just 28.5 x 12 x 2 cm, the keyboard is very compact and extends left and right each about 4 cm on the iPad mini out when it is placed in landscape mode behind. It is worth mentioning that the keyboard is only 0.6 cm high actually, but, is significantly larger by the battery compartment located on the underside of the top and extends over the entire width. This battery also serves as a solid, non-adjustable in height support, so that the keyboard is slightly slanted at the same angle on the table. By two AAA batteries, which are not included, the weight of the keyboard increased from 285g to 309g, so it is under the mobile keypads in good company. At the bottom four rubber feet are glued so that the product can be non-slip placed on the table. In principle this is laudable, but this results in a drawback: the keyboard is at these four points increased by approximately 2 mm, whereby the middle part in the spacebar when pressure slightly bends down, as there is a corresponding rubber foot missing. Even otherwise, the keyboard is not completely rigid, but can be a bit bent at an appropriate effort, which I regard as a small minus.
After the quick detection via Bluetooth all of keys right away. The pressure points are good, the stop is low, a delay in the transmission / detection, I could not tell. The keys are not rubberized, but completely smooth. Average big men hands can operate very well the keyboard. Even longer texts go so easily from the hand. Overall I am very satisfied with the performance offered. The mini keyboard works perfectly in combination with the iPad. She is ideal for owners of Smart Covers or a comparable product with integrated iPad support, the move who desire even without the luxury of a "real" keyboard with an appropriate feel. For about 20 euros you will hardly find better products. The small deduction there not 100% convincing processing for the above.
// ADDENDUM: Unfortunately, I realized that the arrow keys in Smart Office 2 will not work (in pages they work!). Thus, the keyboard is limited for me only and I have to deduct a star later. Too bad!
// Update 2: the device have now notice more than 2 months in operation and had that connection between iPad mini keyboard and often breaks off. The batteries are freshly charged and potentially interfering signal sources are not close. So I have to assume that the problem is with the keyboard.
