I agree with my very positive pre-reviewers to fairly unrestricted. Not only in relation to the price * that's just a really good lens. I have / had to compare it to the MFT system with Lumix 45-200mm and 40-150mm M.Zuiko and the Samsung NX 50-200mm. Or even the 10x zoom of Panasonic, Olympus and Samsung. Against all these comparison lenses can not only exist in the imaging performance, but is even the front. Safe play here also the attached camera and the sensor a role, but for a cheap Shard can even the best sensor (here: X-E2) do nothing.

The lightweight construction of the "cheap zooms" makes in the pocket postiv, hardly a negative impact during handling, the optical quality is sufficient at the long end even for abundant trimming, you can 2-way "digital zoom" without the Full HD Monitor large losses to have. Unfortunately, one can here only set arg scaled and compressed images, which conceal real assessment of optical quality.

The lack of aperture ring is more of a godsend for me as I can be much easier and spontaneous set the aperture with the thumb of the X-E1 / 2, the cumbersome switching on and off the auto iris is omitted on the lens. I would like to see even a retrofit this function via firmware update for the 18-55mm and the X-E2!

* Due to very favorable Kitset sales this lens is individually currently extremely cheap to buy, so also look definitely times in the second deals!
