- Use for almost 2 years
- Use of radio boxes as a supplement to stationary (wired) speakers
- I use the boxes almost only individually in different rooms (left and right separately)
- Use almost exclusively in the cable operation
- All living rooms and balconies controlled
- I hear mostly music and audio books
- Principal use in kitchen and bathroom
- Transmitter is connected to the stationary PC and is deep under the desk
- Transmitting space is quite central in the apartment
- Largest transmission power: about 10 m distance by 3 thick walls
Pro:
+++ Cheaper price
+++ Very simple connection (transmitter in audio-out jack, power connector, ready)
+++ Bass ON / OFF
+++ Robust, portable, lightweight and optically very discreet
+++ Not susceptible to humidity in the bathroom
+++ Very good quality (optics, cables, switches, material)
+++ Sound individually perfectly adequate (at that price and for this application)
+++ Battery and cable operation possible
+++ Usually trouble-free wireless connection with no quirks or noise
+++ Long enough cable for flexible use
+++ Separate (independent of the PC) Mono-function for single use of the boxes
Cons:
--- Rather low bass intensity
--- Sound not great (especially for single use of the boxes)
--- Off switch combined with volume control
Conclusion:
So I'm really pleased with this radio boxes solution. I have been given the boxes, was skeptical at first, but then quickly correct thrilled. The boxes are very flexible in use. In addition to the rooms where hard-wired boxes are, I can now reach all other rooms and even our balcony. Especially in the summer a great solution. We use a box permanently in the bathroom - just about every night. She has no problem with there arise when bathing or showering humidity. The transmitter must not be co particularly exposed - in our deep under the desk. Almost never any interference. Also, the lack of separate on-off switch does not bother me, since I anyway every time after use pull the plug and thus the volume can remain unchanged. The Extra Bass switching is useful - I use it almost always music, but they sometimes turn starting with audiobooks. The Mono function is well thought out, because I lose so no audio channel when I use only a single box in the room.
At this price and for the Normalo users an absolute buy recommendation! Who wants absolute super sound, certainly have to spend much more - but I have my stationary boxes or headphones.
