I was looking for a BluRay player with the following criteria:
-Integrated Media Player
-Integrated WLAN
-umfangreicher App Store
-quiet
-after option fast loading times
-Low power consumption
to anticipate it right: This player meets all Kritereien.
Looking for the "perfect" player I would have to make almost all other in any way compromising; he gives times during operation to loud noises, sometimes the Einleszeit is too long, in others you have to buy the WiFi dongle in addition; Here you get a comprehensive overall package for a very moderate price.
The core function, the BluRay playback, it can handle as expected, as almost every other player. The picture is sharp, no stuttering, fast Einleszeit, upscaling of DVDs (tested with IRobot) in very good quality; the films bring to life;)
With a built-in media player you have to pay close attention to the compatibility due to the variety of formats. Again, the player beats hervoragend: all MKV container and video files from my hard drive is the player in the picture and sound again. For me, a very important purchase criterion. An additional advantage with this player: he has two USB ports, one on the front and one on the back. So if you like what I have his hard drive, permanently attached to the player, without disfiguring the whole picture, that's no problem.
Now to the App Store: since my plasma - TV is one of the older generation, there is no Internet connection and, accordingly, no apps. First I thought it was to have relatively sinnfrei, but by being able to access various online content such as video on demand and thus save yourself the transition to the video store, I decided for an internet connection. The connection to the wireless router worked within seconds and I was with my BluRay player in the network. The Smart - TV Plus behinaltet far unfortunately not yet online video stores max cathedrals or Acetrax; but should, according to Philips Support (who answered the way very fast and friendly; via chat) follow "soon". So far there are two unknowns available.
What you should consider in any case:
-There is no HDMI cable in
-Softwareupdate Over the player does not appear directly, update must and should also be made via the Philips Page with USB Stick (then appears the Skype function)
Neither the Skype function, nor the integration into the network or the 3D function could / far I wanted to test; all criteria which are irrelevant to me; only the 3-D function is selected for the future wisely if my TV should leave me. :)
If you are looking, I can only advise you to purchase.
