Positive
++ Very nice transparent sound
++ Very easy handling
Suitable ++ by using a jack for direct connection to an MP3 player
Negative
- By jack sound quality depends greatly on the quality of the respective output (iPod very well, headphone jack Samsung laptop rather mediocre)
- A bit slow and fiddly sensor buttons on the left satellite
- Still no way that Soundsticks per switch completely disconnected from the mains (subwoofer lights up at night)
- Rubber feet of the satellite become slippery due to dust
- Design prone to fat fingerprints and scratches
Conclusion
The sound quality is equally well on both models, however, is likely particularly for low dynamic music (Pop) have some more pressure in the bass range. Sometimes that helps "insulate" the subwoofer with some foam rubber to get more bass contours. Dier volume sufficient for sonication of a medium-sized room with 15 to 20 sqm completely out.
The first Soundsticks were, which I personally prefer using USB port, because the sound quality of interierten headphone outputs on many computers is not as optimal. For this eliminates the possibility of using the Soundsticks as Partyanlage on iPod. But particular iPod to Sound Sticks II sound very good (no comparison with the JBL Creatures), the matter is quite clear: Best Buy recommendation for the Sound Sticks II from Harman Kardon.
