I have the router now very happy about 2 weeks in operation and I am.
He does what he is: routes. The continuous operation is great, even a power outage
he has survived and then connected again without hesitation.
Details:
Scope of supply:
- Router
- Power Supply
- Yellow network cable for connection to the DSL / Cable - router.

The delivery time thanks to Amazon Prime very shortly. The next day it was there! Wunderbar!
Realities on the ground:
At my house I have a Kabel BW modem, which should be added to the wireless router. This makes it possible for me to include in addition to a normal PC and a laptop or other wireless device. To save cable I have included another PC that communicates via WLAN.
Set up the router:
I do not have via the included software set up your machine, but on the Web - configuration that can be set up by any operating system (including Mac OS X or Linux, etc.). I have connected the router simultaneously with a LAN cable to a PC (one of the SWITCH connectors suffice here).
When setting there is a setup wizard which takes you through the steps of setting. Excellent!
However, I still taught the IP - and DHCP range a separately because I wanted to prove a station with a fixed IP. The standard originates from the DHCP range
192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 from. This but you can easily customize. Even Wi-Fi set up and that's it.
Connection:
When the configuration was done, I was able to replace the old router with the new. Remove the old wireless router, power on the new router, Yellow network cable to the cable modem BW and the fixed station via LAN cable to the switch. If the router has obtained an IP, the Internet light is green.
This process may take a few shake, but has come normal.
Coverage:
The wireless range is okay, which is something that bothers me that the 300 MBit arrive by the N rate is not entirely up to me on the WLAN client. However, this could be due to my physical site conditions in the apartment, here are several concrete walls and as this may be. Furthermore, the router is in the lower part of a Rolltischchens, as this can be quite normal.
Nevertheless, Kabel BW bandwidth comes through full and I can use the Internet access completely! I am really totally satisfied!
Additional:
Netgear advertises still great the "Repeating" function. I have not tried this and it will not do. I find that a router is a router and a repeater is a repeater! In addition, this feature is not provided within this router with the required safety standards, there are unfortunately only WEP. Who wants a repeater itself should also specify a! These are available directly from Netgear and they support all security standards including WEP, WPA and WPA2.
So you should decide what you want: a router to connect to the Internet, or a repeater to amplify the wireless signals, then there are no nasty surprises.
