Top unit - super value for money

I used this DVD burner, because the drive has passed in my Mac Mini. But I have also tested the device on your notebook (Win7). And I am pleasantly surprised - especially after the sometimes scathing reviews.

Positives:
+ Installation: The installation works on both the Windows PC and the Mac in a jiffy. USB cable plug, short wait for the installation to finish.
+ Volume: The drive is not louder or quieter than other DVD drives. I have an internal SATA drive from ASUS, which I use now and then the notebook with an adapter. The drive is even louder in operation.
+ Size: The compact design is top. In comparison with internal drives of this burner is significantly smaller and lighter.
+ Access speed: I can not see any differences from other drives with the appropriate specification. Reading and writing works as it should!
+ Price: A drive along with housings for the price is really good.

Neutral:
o Ease of use: The button for opening the tray does not raise color while now and I have keys briefly under certain circumstances - but that's the notebook no different. A slight pressure is sufficient - as generally customary - and the drawer is unlocked.
o DVD tray: The question is what you want. The compact design, together with power supply via USB can not accommodate an extra motor for extending and retracting the drawer. This is therefore a typical notebook drive, where you have to pull out the tray. The functioning properly; the charge is also quite stable and not as shaky as with many a notebook drive.

I can so far nothing negative. The drive is working properly and does the job perfectly. I highly recommend it!
