For the post of my pictures (I work in principle only with RAW files) I use Lightroom and Photoshop CS6, besides, I'm a big fan of the Fiter by Nik Software, in particular Color Efex and Silver Efex for over 2 years. I can not stress enough how excited I of these programs have, even if you in any case have to say with regard to Color Efex that the appropriate filter nothing to what Photoshop does not even could - but in a fraction of the processing time because one thanks to the U-Point technology specifically can edit only individual parts of the picture without consuming only create masks. The question which I asked myself, was therefore whether I really need 5 Topaz Adjust. On the Internet there is this quite controversial opinions. Meanwhile, I will ship 4 plugins of Topaz, including just also adust. The main focus I photograph landscapes and animal portraits, and especially in my landscape photography it's really funny that some images look better by finishing with the filters Nik, other shots in turn with Topaz adust. It is difficult to compare the two products to each other because they differ fundamentally from the application. For me it's really amazing what great results the Topaz filter partially deliver (mind you with 1 or 2 clicks). Many of the settings are too extreme for my taste, so I work in the result only with just 15 to 20 presets - but these provide partly miraculous results! A little tip: before you open the plugin, you should copy the image plane. The advantage: if one applies a Adjust filter (eg, a right-wing extremist HDR-look), you can afterwards simply lowering the opacity of the duplicated layer and then gets a perfect score. Nevertheless, on the Nik filter I want to give up under any circumstances. According to my estimates, I work about 50% of my pictures with Adjust, the other half with Nik Color Efex. You get quickly get a feel for which plugin will provide the best result for shooting.
