Having published decontruction class as a serious Künsterlin 2 albums for the label, Miss Minogue is presenting us in gold hotpants her comeback album Light Years. The album is not only banal - it is emphasized banal and not even up to date. The songs are set to music in the '70s or' 80s disco music with more or less kitschy lyrics. Nevertheless went to the sexy Disco Kylie concept and it was again the number 1 with Spinning Around. The interpretation of Vanessa Amorosi song "On A Night Like This" I find it very successful. "Disco Down" is a tribute to past disco evenings and sounds a little wistfully as well as the beautiful dreamy "I'm so high". The funky "Koocachoo" grew out of a collaboration with Towa Tei. The Dance Songs "Your Disco Needs You", "Butterfly" and "Light Years" are a bit more modern than the other. And then there's the summer sun Martini and Bikini song "Loveboat" and the Spanish-sounding "Please Stay". With beep transmitter and not quite perfect voice Kylie sings kitschy ballad "Bittersweet Goodbye" and the remake of Barry White "Under the Influence of Love". The duet "Kids" with Robbie Williams fits well with the concept of the album and certainly helped a few Lightyears albums to sell more. Lightyears is varied and complex produced - in the spirit of cheerful voting Pop, you have to smile a bit about the banality and fun concept then goes on somehow. I would nevertheless not to "Easy Listening Pop" count, since the songs are not easily accessible. Much one discovers only after repeated listening. That's why I find Lightyears something exceptional and for that there are 3 stars. Too bad it's still that Miss Minogue returned to popularity due trivilialen pop music.
